Paul + Justin // Intimate LGBTQ+ Chicago Wedding

HELLO!

I’m positively delighted to share with you a day that unfolded with so much ease + joy that I felt like I was spending it with my own friends + family. Paul + Justin’s wedding day began in their home; a gorgeous sun-soaked apartment full of artifacts of their life together. With just a handful of their closest people, they exchanged vows in a small Quaker ceremony in their living room before transforming the space for a cozy brunch together. In the afternoon, we reconvened at the harbor (a site they frequent for summer sailing trips on their boat) to document their chosen family in one of their most treasured places. They kicked off the party with a lively, sangria-filled cocktail hour at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba!, complete with delicious tapas and sweet toasts from loved ones. Finally, guests were shuttled off to the yacht club for dancing, ube banana pudding, mahjong, and maybe a few end-of-the-evening cigarettes as a nightcap.

Justin + Paul’s families have truly become one, even establishing their own holiday traditions (with contentious and heated competitions). Their connectedness and care for each other is so glaringly apparent and sincerely unique. This was a day where each moment felt covered in love.
