Aliyah + Sam // LGBTQ+ Rainy Wisconsin Wedding
HOWDY!
Some weddings are proof that the best days aren’t the ones that go perfectly according to plan - they’re the ones that keep unfolding with smiles, no matter what. Sam and Aliyah’s wedding day started and ended with sunshine… but right before their ceremony, the sky opened up. A huge storm rolled through just as guests were taking their seats. Instead of panic, everyone pitched in, hauling chairs across the field to pivot to their rain plan.
Sam + Aliyah rolled with it, laughing under umbrellas, helping guests find cover, and trusting that the moment would still be perfect (and it absolutely was). When the rain cleared, they jumped in puddles and ran through the freshly-soaked grass with their hands clasped together. They were rewarded in the evening with a gorgeous pastel sunset along the river.
This was the kind of wedding that reminds you that the magic isn’t in the weather or the timeline - it’s in the people, and in how they show up for each other when things get unpredictable. I think this encapsulates what I love most about Sam + Aliyah as a couple, too: they show up for each other, in all the highs + lows they’ve experienced in the few years they’ve been together.
Here’s a little glimpse into their beautiful, rain-kissed celebration. Cheers to these two!
